“Voting = POWER! The ballot box is a direct conduit to power. Without the right to vote, disenfranchised people have limited access to power. Since my release, my involvement with politics has intensified tremendously, but my exclusion from casting a vote undermines my actual citizenship, which weakens my individual voice. The irony here is, due to the fact that they took my right to vote, I am figuring out ways to encourage people all around me to vote, inside and outside of prison. So, my one no-vote actually leads to thousands of potential yes votes.”
